Talia beck
Born 1980. Graduated from the Thelma Yellin high school for the performing arts. In the years 1998-1999 She was a dancer with the Vertigo dance company, working with choreographers Noa Wertheim, Goda Gabor and Netta Pulvermacher. In the years 2000-2001 she has danced with Portuguese born Choreographer Bruno Listopad in Holland and Portugal. In 2002 She joined the Inbal Pinto dance company as a dancer, and in 2004 as a rehearsal director. Beck has been collaborating with the company till 2016, as a dancer, teacher, assistant, and staging their work around the world. In 2005 she created, together with dancer/choreographer Edan Gorlicki, a duet called "Kinky love 4" which was performed in Israel and Holland. In 2006 she began her studies in Philosophy and Art History at the Te Aviv University. Since then she has been working as a freelance dancer with the Inbal Pinto dance company as well as with different choreographers such as Noa Dar, Yasmeen Godder, Roy Assaf, Netta Yerushalmi, Ella Rothschild and Asher Lev. In 2009 She was invited by Inbal Pinto and Avshalom Pollak to create a piece for their company. "Saudade", is a piece for five dancers with Original music by Tom Tlalim. At the end of 2009 She created "Maatzama", a solo piece performed by dancer Shir Medwetzki, which was then produced and performed by the Inbal Pinto Dance company in 2010. "Ma'atzama" was performed in ISrael, France and Brazil. In 2010, She created the choreography for the play "Adam Geist" directed by Lilach Dekel Avneri at the "Tmunah" theatre in Tel Aviv, and For the play "Orna's Theatre" directed by Rafi Niv. Talia is the recipient of the 2010 Ministry of culture award for young choreographer. Talia was chosen by The Schusterman Foundation to take part in the Visiting Artist Program, through which during 2013 she was a guest teacher and choreographer at The University of Kansas (US). "The Botany of Desire" premiered in July 2013. The Full length piece was created in collaboration with designers Noam Dover and Michal Cederbaum, Musician Gai Sherf and Dancers- Creators: Ido Batash, Yochai Ginton, Ariel Freedman and Michal Sayfan. "W", Premiered in January 2016 at The Kelim Center for Choreography, Where Talia was awarded an 8 months residency. "W" was created in collaboration with Physical Actor Zvika Fishzon, Architects Nadav Bignitz and Lital Netta Volkman, Musician Gai Sherf, Light Designer Ofer Laufer and the Dramaturg Amir Kliger. In 2018 Beck Premiered "Colonia", as part of The Curtain Up Festival at Suzanne Dellal Center, Tel Aviv. In "Colonia", Beck collaborated with the accomplished dancer Keren Lurie pardes, and 8 other dancers from various backgrounds. The piece features new music by Gai Sherf, Stage design by Industrial Designer Zohar Shoef and Costumes by Aviah Bash. Talia Holds an MFA in Choreography from The Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance. Talia gives repertoire and technique workshops around the world, for both professional and non-professional dancers. Together with Physical actor Zvika Fishzon they give workshops for dancers and actors exploring what is "Dance Theater". Beck also does commission work, and has been invited by different universities and professional dance establishments around the world to teach, set or create new work on. |
